SEBI –
Empanelment of Forensic Auditors (NIA 2025)
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has invited applications from
eligible firms and body corporates for empanelment of forensic auditors
for a period of three years. The empanelled auditors will be assigned
forensic examination of financial statements and related records of listed
companies, as and when required by SEBI.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 5
years of experience in forensic auditing.
- At least 5
partners/directors, with 3 actively involved in forensic audit
and holding relevant qualifications (CFE/FAFD/ICMAI Diploma, etc.).
- Minimum 10
full-time employees, including at least 5 with forensic audit
qualifications.
- Proposed SEBI
audit team must have 4 members, including 3 CA/CMA with 3+
years forensic experience.
- At least 6
forensic audits completed in the last 3 financial years, out of which 3
must be for a Government/Regulatory/PSU body.
- Minimum ₹50
lakh total revenue from forensic audits in FY 2022-23, 2023-24, and
2024-25.
- Must have
branches in at least two cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai,
Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, or Pune.
- Must provide a ₹10
lakh solvency certificate from the bank.
Fees
SEBI Will Pay
- Range: ₹10
lakhs – ₹30 lakhs per assignment
- Exclusive of
GST
- Depends on:
- number of
years being audited
- company size
(large / mid / small cap)
- In exceptional
cases SEBI may pay more than ₹30 lakhs
Contract Period
- Empanelment
validity: 3 years
